How to Set Goals You Can Achieve


Setting goals each week, month and year is so crucial to our personal development. It doesn't matter whether your goals revolve around health, work, relationships, hobbies or whatever else may be important to you, but setting and achieving goals is something that we should all constantly be doing! That's why I'm excited to share my six best tips to help you finally crush those goals that you've been thinking about lately. 


How to Set Goals You Can Achieve

1. Write it down

If you think that just storing a goal in your mind is good enough, think again my friend. The Huffington Post reports that you're over 40% more likely to reach your goals simply by writing them down! Your best bet, in my opinion, is to buy a journal that's solely devoted to writing down and keeping track of your goals. You can also fill it up with inspirational quotes or photos, too, to help keep you on track!

2. Keep it realistic

Being real with yourself is super important when it comes to goal setting. For example, there's no way that I could possibly lose 15 pounds by next week (though I'm sure we all wish this were the case). If you make your goals unrealistic, you'll just end up getting down on yourself when you don't reach them! 

3. But don't be afraid to dream big

Keep it real, but know what you ARE capable of! Whether your goals revolve around health and fitness, self development, hobbies, or anything else under the sun, make those dreams big girlfriend! Just be sure to pace yourself and give yourself enough time to accomplish your goals. 

4. Break it down

When it comes to those goals that are big-time, make it easier for yourself by breaking them down into smaller goals. If your goal is to achieve something over the next year, figure out what you can do each month to get closer to the end game. By breaking down your long-term goals, you'll set yourself up for success each month to achieve it! 

5. Give yourself a time frame

It's important to make your goal timely because it'll help you hold yourself accountable! Don't rely on making your dreams a reality "someday"... instead, figure out how you can accomplish them within a realistic time frame. Keep track of your progress and you are bound to crush allll of the goals, girlfriend! 

6. Check in each week

This is probably the most important step, in my opinion! Take some time out each week to check in on what you've accomplished and see how far you've come and what work you still have to get done. This is where that journal from step 1 comes in handy 😉 Knowing that you'll want to check in each week may be just the motivation you need to stick to your goals!
