5 Tips to Accomplishing Your Goals

Has anyone else realized how soon the new year will be here?! We’re down to just two months left of 2017 before we start setting our goals for next year – but why wait until then, when we can start crushing our goals now? Over the next 21 days, I’ll be working on some major goals I’ve set for myself to achieve before the year ends and I’m hoping you’ll join me for the ride! Evaluate what’s most important.

We all could probably rattle off quite a few goals when put on the spot, but take time to think about what you really want to accomplish and WHY you want to accomplish it. Write down no more than 5 specific and attainable goals, and why it’s so important to you to achieve them.

Keep a journal.

Track everything from your progress to your feelings to your hardships while trying to reach your goal. This is a great way to figure out what methods of reaching your goals are working for you and what things may trigger you to veer off track. And just think about how great it’ll be to go back and look at exactly how far you’ve come once you’ve hit your goals!

Have a goal buddy.

Share your goals with your significant other, your best friend or your family and try to learn what goals are important to them, too. This way, you’ll have someone checking in occasionally to make sure you’re still on track and you can help keep each other on the path to success. It doesn’t matter if your goals are similar or totally different — just talk to each other about why you want to achieve them and encourage each other to crush them!

Don’t be too hard on yourself.

If you do happen to stray a little bit off the path to your goals, don’t get down on yourself about it. We’ve all been there and it’s better to pull yourself back on track as fast as possible than to wallow in your “failure.” Just pick back up right where you left off, girlfriend!

Self-care comes first!

While crushing our goals is exciting and fun, it may not be great to put TOO much into it. Always check in with yourself to ensure you’re making time for your family, friends and hobbies, and taking care of yourself as well. It’s an important step for us girlbosses!
